According to the indictment, Moody left notes at various public places in Fernandina Beach between Jan. 30 and Feb. 2, 2016. Each of the six notes stated, in substance, that a bomb was going to explode in the downtown Fernandina Beach area.

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed a violation of one or more federal criminal laws, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.

This case was investigated by the Fernandina Beach Police Department, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service, the U.S. Coast Guard Explosives Detection Team, the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations -- Jacksonville Office.
