Teenager passenger dies in Nassau County wreck

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A teenage passenger in car that turned left in the path of a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 1 on Saturday night died and both drivers were hospitalized, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say a Toyota Camry driven by Migdelio Luis Torres 22, of Jacksonville, was northbound on U.S. 1 just north of the Duval-Nassau County border about 10:30 p.m. and attempted to turn left on Ratliff Road. The FHP says Torres turned into the path of a Dodge Ram driven by Heathe Ferguson, 37, of Callahan, which hit the passenger side of car at the intersection.
