MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Miami Garden Police said a 9-year-old boy stole his mother's car and went for a joyride because he didn't want to go to school.

The boy threw a brick at his mother and grandmother on Tuesday, police said.

Authorities say the boy then stole his mother's keys and took her car before police pulled him over about 45 minutes later.

Police charged him with aggravated assault and grand theft auto.
