Police give 'all clear' on Tallahassee Community College campus

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Tallahassee Community College was on lockdown for two hours Tuesday after someone reported seeing a man on campus with a handgun.

The campus-wide alert was issued around 10:45 a.m.  Police said the man was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, blue jean shorts and plaid boxers.  He was described as a man in his early 20s with a short braided hairstyle and gold teeth.

TCC advised people to stay inside buildings and not come to campus until police said it's safe. Anyone with information was asked to call campus police at 850-201-6100.

WCTV reported police officers were going door to door around the campus to make sure the suspect is not on campus, adding that he person who initially reported being chased by the armed suspect was not being cooperative with police. Police believe he knows this armed suspect and that may be the reason they're not getting a full description.

Just after 1 p.m. TCC's Twitter feed saying that campus police issued an an all clear, the main campus will return to normal operations and classes would resume as scheduled.

This alert never affected the Florida State University campus.
