Prank call evacuates portion of Disney World

Orange County Sheriff's Office investigates call

The "Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover" at the Magic Kingdom is an elevated ride into the world of tomorrow. Spend a few minutes off your feet and enjoy the scenery.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – A portion of Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, including some rides in Tomorrowland, was evacuated Saturday night because of a prank call.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office would not specify what was said in the call.

Deputies said the evacuation was precautionary and lasted for a couple of hours.  The affected areas reopened before the park closed.

Other parts of Disney World, including the rest of the Magic Kingdom, were unaffected, Orange County deputies said.

Officials said they do not yet know where the call originated.

No charges have been filed, but an investigation is ongoing.
