Undercover investigation leads to arrests

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A long-term undercover investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office drug and vice unit led to the arrests of two drug traffickers, officials said.

Rantrell Madison and Armand Bauldrick are charged with trafficking heroin and cocaine after an extensive investigation that began in April 2015.

Authorities said Madison and Bauldrick traveled from Miami-Dade County to meet with Putnam County detectives several times. During their meetings, the men sold heroin and cocaine to the detectives, authorities said.

Madison was arrested in July 2015 by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office street crimes unit in when he arrived in Putnam County to sell additional quantities of drugs, officials said. Madison was alone on his final trip, and detectives didn’t know Bauldrick's identity until recently.

A warrant was issued Oct. 20 for Bauldrick for trafficking heroin. During the investigation, detectives seized about 40 grams of crack and powdered cocaine and 28 grams of heroin, officials said.

The street value of the seized drugs is about $9,000.

Madison is serving a prison sentence on a conviction for trafficking cocaine and two counts of trafficking heroin. He is scheduled for release in 2023.

Bauldrick is charged with trafficking heroin and remains in the Putnam County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
