Wildlife officials set turtle free in south Florida

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – Wildlife officials rescued a loggerhead sea turtle that became wedged between rocks at a preserve in south Florida.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials responded to the Blowing Rocks Preserve, which is north of Jupiter, to find the turtle upside down.

"Once the female loggerhead was flipped over and lifted out, she quickly crawled back into the water and swam off like a champ," FWC posted on its Facebook page.

FWC said this is a good reminder of how you can help nesting sea turtles by filling in any holes that you dig in the sand.
