Cement truck flips, blocks I-95 SB for hours

All southbound lanes closed near State Road 206 for almost 4½ hours

ST. JOHNS CONTY, Fla. – A cement truck overturned Friday afternoon in a crash on I-95 southbound in St. Johns County, spilling wet cement on the highway, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. All lanes of I-95 southbound remain blocked until about 6:30 p.m., when all lanes reopened.

Southbound traffic was detoured onto State Road 206, then to U.S. 1 south.

A secondary crash caused by the backup was not serious, deputies said.

The crash was initially reported with a fatality, but the FHP's website changed to say the crash involved injuries, but no details were available.
