Fire burns empty 2-story home

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. - St. Johns County Fire Rescue extinguished a fire at a home in the northwest part of the county on Saturday.

Firefighters responded to the 400 block of Lake Monroe Place.  Crews from stations 3, 16, 4 and Battalion 1 and 3 were dispatched to the scene.

They arrived to find an unoccupied 2-story residential structure with light smoke visible throughout the interior.

Crews located and extinguished the fire rapidly, containing further structural damage.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by SJCFR.
