Fire damages St. Johns County home

2 adults safely evacuated

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A fire severely damaged a home in St. Augustine South on Sunday night, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters responded to a home on Prince Road around 8:30 p.m.  after a report of a kitchen fire.  Upon arrival, crews found the back of the house heavily involved in fire.  Everyone inside the home made it out safely.

Crews extinguished the fire in about 45 minutes.

The home was occupied by two adults, who will be staying with family.  There was severe fire damage to the kitchen, dining room, back of the house and porch, with some heat and water damage throughout the residence.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
