Jacksonville's Federal Bureau of Investigation, the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Federal Department of Law Enforcement are all assisting with the investigation along with the St. Augustine Police and Fire departments.

The investigation continues into who left two Molotov cocktails at the armory.

An employee found the two fire bombs on the grounds of the armory about 8:53 a.m. Aug. 9 when a National Guard staff found a piece of cloth in the opening of the gas tank filler tube of one of their Humvee vehicles and multiple Molotov devices were found within the compound around the vehicles. The devices extinguished themselves without causing damage to the targeted vehicles, the St. Augustine Police Department said.

The two bottles were broken and police smelled an odor when they arrived, Cpl. Jeff Truncellito told News4Jax. Neither had ignited.
