Undercover drug buy leads to arrest, deputies say

Man, 51, facing cocaine charges; deputies seize $6,700 in 'drug money'

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 51-year-old St. Johns County man is facing cocaine charges after an undercover investigation, the sheriff's office said Tuesday.

Rudy Valentino McCoy was arrested early Friday after a search warrant was executed at his home, deputies said.

McCoy is charged with sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, and maintaining a drug dwelling. He remains in the St. Johns County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $125,000.

Detectives began the investigation after a recent undercover purchase of alleged
cocaine from McCoy's residence, deputies said.

Detectives and members of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed a warrant on the home Friday morning, deputies said.

Detectives found and seized about 9.4 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and over $6,700 in cash believed to be profits of illegal narcotics transactions.
