Woman assaulted in St. Johns County home

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A St. Johns County woman reported that she was assaulted by a man when she got home Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies responded at 4:15 p.m. to a report of the attack at a home on Red House. The victim told deputies that when she arrived home at 2 p.m., she was accosted from behind by a man and assaulted. The attacker then ran out of the house.

The Sheriff's Office said the victim was transported to Flagler Hospital, where she was treated and released.

She described the attacker as a white man with brown shaggy hair, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches tall, wearing a blue shirt and dark work-type pants.

Deputies searched the area did not locate the suspect. Detectives are asking Heritage Park residents who may have surveillance cameras to determine if any subjects matching the suspect's description were captured on their system.
