Daytona Beach police said the victim agreed to give the woman, who said she had a medical emergency,  a ride to the Walgreens from the Citgo gas station on Reed Canal Road.

When the women arrived at the Walgreens on Ridgewood Avenue, the woman stabbed the victim twice, pushed her out of the car and drove off, police said.

Daytona Beach police said the elderly woman pulled a large chunk of hair out of the other woman's head during the attack.

The victim was taken to Halifax Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Residents say the carjacking has them feeling nervous.

"Don't take advantage of other people maybe ask you have a dollar or two maybe here or there to help out but you know don't put somebody else's life in danger," said Sheila Weichy.
