Florida's unclaimed cash team visits Jacksonville

The state of Florida has unclaimed cash and valuables worth millions of dollars. Some of it could be yours.

The unclaimed property includes old bank accounts, watches, jewelry, coins, stamps and historical items.

Representatives from the Florida Department of Financial Services were at WJXT studios Thursday afternoon to man a phone bank and will host an auction on Saturday.

If you want to see if to something that belonged to you has been turned over to the state's Bureau of Unclaimed Property, visit FlTreasureHunt.org and search under your name.

The state will offer 50,000 unclaimed items valued at more than $700,000 at auction Saturday at the Jacksonville Marriott on Salisbury Road. Items up for auction can be previewed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.  Registration for the auction begins at 8 a.m. and the auction opens at 10 a.m.

The state has also put items up for auction online for viewing in advance of the auction.
