Former Nassau County teacher pleads guilty to child sex crimes

Daniel Wright faces up to 20 years in prison

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A former Fernandina Beach High School teacher pled guilty Friday in connection to multiple child sex crimes that could land him in prison for up to 20 years.

Daniel Gregory Wright, 33, pled guilty to three counts of custodial sexual battery, one county of tampering with evidence, three counts of electronic transfer of information harmful to minors and 31 counts of possession of photographs/sexual performance by a child.

Wright was arrested in June 2014 when authorities learned of his relationship with a girl younger than 18 years old. Investigators later discovered dozens of child porn pictures on Wright's cellphone.

Wright faces up to 20 years in prison and will be sentenced Jan. 8.
