NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – The Nassau County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of one of its own.
Sheriff Bill Leeper said Wednesday that former Undersheriff Tommy Reeves has died.

Reeves spent a combined more than 40 years at the Jacksonville and Nassau County sheriff's offices.
He retired as the undersheriff around 2000 and returned to work in 2001 as a homicide detective.
Reeves died in hospice after battling cancer.
