The Clay County Sheriff's Office arrested a former Clay County School Board information technology specialist Tuesday.
According to a spokeswoman with CCSO, detectives believe Michael Francisco is responsible for stealing at least $19,000 in computer and audio visual equipment, such as computer monitors, televisions, projectors and computer memory kits, then selling them on eBay over the course of several years.
Francisco, who is no longer employed by the school district, was assigned to multiple schools in the county throughout his employment.
Officials said Francisco had been employed by the district for eight years before his activities came to light.
Detectives believe Francisco used money obtained by selling the items to supplement his income, pay bills and purchase items for his family.
Francisco is being held on $100,000 bond.
