Former UCF student subject of ISIS video

Stephen Sotloff attended UCF from 2002 to 2004

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Iraqi insurgent group ISIS has apparently released a video threatening to behead a man they identified as Stephen Sotloff, who reportedly is a former University of Central Florida journalism major.

They said he will be the next to die if the U.S. doesn't stop its attacks in Iraq.

The man that ISIS identifies as Sotloff is seen in the same video that claims to show the beheading of journalist James Foley.

Our sister station Local 6 confirmed with UCF that a student named Steven Sotloff did attend the Orlando university from 2002 to 2004.

The man reported to be Sotloff in the video is dressed in an orange jumpsuit and is being held by a militant dressed from head to toe in black clothing.

Both Sotloff and Foley disappeared while covering the war in Syria.

The White House says president Obama was briefed about the video and he will continue to receive regular updates.
