JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A former general manager of Channel 4 who went on to serve on Jacksonville City Council has died.
Bob Schellenberg was 91.

Schellenberg was hired as sales manager of WJXT in 1962. He later was promoted to the top manager of the station and remained at the station until 1983.

Schellenberg was then elected to represent District 5 on City Council and served on all of the council's major committees.
When he left his position at City Hall he became publisher of the Jacksonville Business Journal.
Schellenberg's son, Matt, currently sits on the City Council, representing Mandarin.
