Dr. Katie Falwell, with Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics, as well as R.J. Navarro - an occupational therapist visited The Morning Show to discuss the Right from the Start Clinic and the importance of having your children screened.

Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics has been helping children with developmental delays, and physical and mental challenges since the company began in 2008. Because the organization believes that early identification, intervention and treatment are key to maximizing potential and preventing major challenges throughout a child’s life, its leadership opened a new, Right from the Start screening clinic as a free service to the community.

Parents are usually diligent about taking kids for their yearly well checks with their pediatricians, but these screenings, available to children from 3 months to age 5 ½, go beyond what is monitored at a typical well-check.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that all infants and young children be screened for delays as a regular part of their ongoing health care. However, at early ages, many challenges children face are particularly subtle – that’s why the team at Keystone works in tandem with pediatricians to make sure all areas are covered.
