Gainesville student dies in crash

FHP: Alberic Forest, 23, speeding more than 100 mph

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A Santa Fe College student died in a crash early Tuesday morning.

Alberic Forest, 23, was driving on US-441 near SW 63rd Avenue at a high rate of speed shortly after midnight, according to FHP.

Troopers said Forest was driving more than 100 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Forest left the road and hit several palm trees, causing his vehicle to be torn in half. Forest was thrown from his car and died.

He was wearing a seatbelt, according to the crash report.

Forest is originally from Marathon, Florida.
