GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gainesville Police Department is investigating a newspaper delivery man in connection with possible car burglaries.
James I. Gordon, 19, was seen opening an unlocked vehicle door and entering it early Tuesday morning on NW 50th Terrace in Hillcrest, according to police.

The vehicle was parked on the street in front of the victim's house, and the victim told police that when he confronted Gordon about entering his vehicle, Gordon immediately laid on the street and stayed there until officers arrived.
Gordon admitted to entering the vehicle to steal items, police said.
Police are investigating Gordon's possible involvement in other burglaries of unlocked vehicles as he delivered newspapers in the early morning hours for the Gainesville Sun. Gordon's vehicle, still containing undelivered papers, was towed.
