FRUIT COVE, Fla. – A garbage truck worker was flown to a hospital with a serious head injury after he fell from a moving garbage truck Friday morning, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
The Republic Services employee, 54-year-old Terry Stewart, fell just after 11 a.m. in the 1200 block of Ribbon Road in Fruit Cove.

He was flown to UF Health Jacksonville in critical condition.
Detectives are working to determine what happened.
