Gas prices continue to drop

Gas down .40 since April

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The average gas price has decreased 10 percent since early April when gas reached an average of $4 a gallon.

Ed Dixon is noticing the prices fall as he drives from Tampa to Jacksonville every two weeks for work. He said he's noticed a big difference lately when he fills his tank.

"I got six gallons for $20 when normally I'm getting four or five so I saved a little bit of money this time around so it's a big difference," Dixon said.

For Dixon, the savings at the pump hasn't meant more spending on other items; he said he'll use the savings he has from fuel to see his family more often.

"I can visit home, I can have my kids come up and see me so it would benefit me a lot if it stays down," he said.

It's estimated Americans will use 133 billion gallons of gasoline this year.
