The vehicles affected are the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Arcadia, and Buick Enclave utility vehicles.

Goodyear plans to recall 48,500 tires, which have been found to crack.  Most of the tires were made for GM's family of full-size crossovers.

Goodyear's spokesman says the company is now working with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and expects to have the recall underway next month.

Once that recall is issued, GM says it will also issue a recall.

In the meantime the automaker is making sure that no additional vehicles with faulty tires are sold.
