Police are looking for a masked man who they said shot another man in his car just before midnight Thursday.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of Gordon Street where they found the victim, a 30-year-old Brunswick man.
Police said the man told them he was standing in the street talking with a couple of women and left his car running. When he finished talking and got into the car and tried to drive off, a man wearing a mask got in the car from the front passenger side door, police said.
The victim told police the man tried to strike him on his head with an object several times, and the victim began wrestling with the man. That's when he heard a pop noise and immediately felt a burning sensation in his abdominal area, police said.
The victim told police he got out of the car and ran from the scene for help.
The other man fled in the car, a silver, two-door 2005 Toyota Solera with green lettering on the rear windshield.
The victim was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
Anyone with information about the shooter is asked to call police at 912-267-5091 or 912-267-5099.
