Tony Tyrone Webb Jr., 21, of Orlando, was sentenced Monday to 151 months in prison for his role in the armed bank robbery of the Southeastern Bank in Douglas, Ga., in November 2011.
Federal prosecutors said Webb and Olajawonne Webb robbed the bank of over $13,000. During the robbery, Webb vaulted the bank counter, pinned one teller against the wall and pushed another teller to the ground.
Evidence presented during the sentencing hearing showed Webb purchased wigs and black clothing from two stores neighboring the bank that morning that were worn during the robbery.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Webb had been implicated in 13 additional armed robberies in the central Florida area.
United States Attorney Edward J. Tarver stated,
"Bank robbery is not limited to the depictions that we see on television or in the movies," U.S. Attorney Edward Tarver said. "It is a serious crime that subjects real people to real violence."
