ST. MARYS, Ga. -

Police arrested a Kingsland man Monday after investigating allegations that he and another man sexually abused a 4-year-old child in front of a 7-year-old child, according to authorities.

James Earl Barnes, 62, was arrested at his home in Kingsland after receiving an arrest warrant charging him with child molestation, police said.

Authorities said the charges stem from an ongoing investigation involving Jones Clinton Rivers, who was arrested earlier this month on child pornography charges and previously charged in August with two counts of child molestation.

In August, the St. Marys Police Department started investigating Barnes and Rivers based on statements provided by two children who reported they were sexually abused by both men, investigators said.

According to authorities, the statements revealed details about how Barnes and Rivers sexually abused the 4-year-old child in front of the 7-year-old child at Rivers' home in St. Marys.

Both men are out on bond, police said.
