Public pools across Ga. open this weekend

ATLANTA -

Georgians can splash into summer this holiday weekend.

Public pools across the state will open, marking the official start of summer.

Pools in metro Atlanta, Macon and Columbus opened Saturday. Aquatic facilities in Augusta open Tuesday.

In Chatham County on the coast, the aquatic center will begin extended summer hours and swim classes June 1.
