Police warrants say a teenager charged with fatally shooting a baby in the face in on a Brunswick street had bullets in his pants pocket when he was arrested the next day.

The Brunswick News reported a search warrant filed Friday in Glynn County Magistrate Court says officers found two .22-caliber bullets in a pants pocket of 19-year-old De'Marquise Elkins when they arrested him March 22.

Elkins is charged with murder in the March 21 slaying of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago, who police say was shot in the face as Elkins an accomplice tried to rob the toddler's mother who had taken him out for a walk in a stroller.

Authorities also charged 15-year-old Dominique Lang in the slaying.  Both teens have been charged as adults and have pleaded not guilty.

Police say they later recovered a .22-caliber pistol that Elkins' mother and sister dumped in a saltwater pond.  Police charged both women with tampering with evidence.
