Suspicious envelope closes Brunswick business

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Police were called to a business on Cyprus Mill Road in Brunswick, Georgia, on Monday because of an envelope with a suspicious powder substance inside.

Around 1:30 p.m., the Brunswick Police Department responded to Duckworth Properties at 3441 Cyprus Mill Road because of an envelope that had come in the mail.

The envelope was sent to Jacksonville to be tested to see if the yellow powdery substance inside was dangerous. Officials announced Tuesday that the lab results showed the substance did not contain any harmful ingredients.
 
Duckworth Properties was closed temporarily because of the incident, and the FBI was notified.

Police are asking for help leading to a conviction in the incident.
