Two Waycross men won top prizes in separate scratch-off games this month.
Willie Woods, 65, won a $400,000 prize playing the instant game Lucky Streak. The father of two won on Father's Day.
"I'll never forget that day," he said.
Woods, a retired railroad worker, stopped at Corner Stop, 2401 Plant Ave. in Waycross, where he purchased a ticket while on his way to eat dinner at his daughter's house.
"I scratched it in my truck outside of the store," he said. "My eyes stretched. I couldn't believe it."
The lucky winner said he feels wonderful about his lottery win.
"That meal was fantastic," Woods said about the remainder of his evening.
With his wife, Woods has two adult daughters and six grandchildren.
He anticipates helping his daughters financially with his winnings.
Meanwhile, a military veteran won a $50,000 scratch-off prize.
Eddie Taylor, 63, played the popular instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic and won the top prize.
"I got home and scratched it, and there it was," Taylor said. "I was having a lucky feeling, and I decided to play."
With his winnings, Taylor plans to pay off bills and save the remainder.
Crossway Cigarette & Beer Outlet, 385 State St. in Waycross, sold the winning ticket.
