BAXLEY, Ga. - Authorities are investigating a home invasion in south Georgia that claimed the life of a Baxley woman, who was slain while her husband was tied up and allowed to live.
The Florida Times-Union reports that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is probing the crime in Appling County.
Appling County sheriff's officials say 26-year-old Jonathan Courson told investigators that two men forced their way into the couple's home in the Oak Ridge subdivision home around 4 a.m. Friday.
Courson said the two men tied up him and his wife, 28-year-old Mandy Courson, and later killed her.
Appling County Sheriff Benny DeLoach asked the GBI for assistance and agents were dispatched from three offices.
