Property seized from Kingsland recycling business

KINGSLAND, Ga. – The Kingsland Police Department on Monday seized property from J and A & Sons Recycling in what police said was the culmination of an intensive criminal investigation by police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The property seized from the business at 810 South Lee St. was used to facilitate illegal activity for violations of the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act through predicate acts of interstate transportation of stolen property and wire fraud, along with other violations of Georgia state code pertaining to the theft by receiving stolen property, investigators said.

All charges and violations are felony level.

J and A Recycling is owned and operated by Jimmy and Amy Brow. Both have previously been arrested and charged with violations of the Georgia RICO statue.

"The writ (of seizure) allows law enforcement to seize the tools from suspects used to commit illegal activity," Kingsland police Chief Darryl Griffis said in a news release. "We continue to follow multiple leads both in and out of state and anticipate identifying additional suspects who participated in this complex scheme."
