COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. - Two men suspected of burglarizing more than 20 storage units in Columbia County were arrested Thursday, the Sheriff's Office said.
On Tuesday, deputies said several units at the Community Self Storage off State Road 47 were broken into. Victims said they lost jewelry, musical instruments, hunting equipment, electronics and cash.
Deputies identified two suspects from surveillance video and transaction reports from a nearby pawn shop where some of the jewelry was sold. On Thursday, detectives found the two suspects, Bryan McDonald, 21, of Lake City and Robert Selves, 22, at the Piney Woods Lodge on U.S. 90. They said the men admitted to the thefts and found most of the stolen items in Selves' car.
Both men have been charged with 27 counts each of criminal mischief, theft and dealing in stolen property.
