ATLANTA - If fall is here, it must be deer season in Georgia.
Wildlife officials said hunters can take to the woods for firearm season starting Saturday, Oct. 20. The season runs through Jan. 1 in the northern part of the state and through Jan. 15 in the southern half of Georgia.
Archery season is under way, ending Friday. Blackpowder and other primitive weapons season runs from Saturday to Oct. 19.
That includes more than 100 state-operated wildlife management areas.
