The college is accepting donations of toys, blankets and nonperishable foods at its six college campuses.  Each campus is asking for a certain kind of donation:

  • Downtown Campus: 101 W. State Street, new, twin sheet sets for Lutheran Social Services
  • Kent Campus: 3939 Roosevelt blvd, new, unwrapped toys for all ages to benefit Toys for Tots
  • North Campus: 4501 Capper Road, new, unwrapped toys for all ages, benefiting Wolfson Children's Hospital
  • Open Campus/Deerwood Campus: 9911 Old Baymeadows Road, nonperishable food benefiting Feeding Northeast Florida
  • South Campus: 11901 Beach Blvd., new baby blankets benefiting Community Connections

"It's the perfect time to say how can I give of myself, how can I give to my community, how can I give back to those around me to make our space a better place?" explained Dr. Cynthia Bioteau, President of FSCJ.  "FSCJ is excited to culminate our 50th anniversary of being who we are as a community college by giving back to our community."

Also, through a generous tree donation from Green Releaf, a partnership between JEA and Greenscape of Jacksonville, 200 new trees will be planted on FSCJ campuses Tuesday to improve the environmental surroundings and ecological impact of each campus.
