Government reveals foods most likely linked to foodborne illnesses

Report: row grown vegetables and beef linked to the majority of illnesses

JACKSONVILLE, Fl. – The government has released a report revealing what foods are linked to the most foodborne illnesses. 

WebMD reports, the government looked into 1,000 foodborne illness outbreaks.  The government focused on E. coli, salmonella, campylobacter and listeria.  The data covered between 1998 and 2012.

The government found vegetables and beef were the link to causing the majority of illnesses.  Below is a chart breaking down the illnesses and food links.

There are four major types of foodborne illnesses.  The report reveals, two-million Americans suffer from one of the illnesses each year.
