Governor appoints James Johns to St. Johns County commission

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Tuesday's election of Cyndi Stevenson to District 17 in the Florida House of Representatives left her seat in St. Johns County commission vacant, but not for long.

On Wednesday, Gov. Rick Scott appointed James Johns to the seat.

Johns, 47, of St. Johns, is the president of Solid Rock Engineering Consultants Inc. He received his dual degree in applied physics and civil engineering from Jacksonville University and the University of Florida.

Johns' appointment is through Nov. 15, 2016, completing the term Stevenson was elected to serve on the commission.
