Governor Scott activates Florida Disaster Fund

Following Hurricane Matthew the fund supports those impacted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott activated the Florida Disaster Fund to aid those individuals who have been impacted by Hurricane Matthew in the past days.  The Florida Disaster Fund will provide financial support to those Florida communities that were affected.

Governor Scott said, “Many families and businesses were impacted by Hurricane Matthew, and we are fully committed to ensuring every resource is available to help them. Activating the Florida Disaster Fund will give individuals across the country the opportunity to help those in need as we begin the recovery process following this storm. I continue to encourage all Floridians to look out for each other and work together to help our beautiful communities rebuild.”

Along with the public and private sectors and other non-governmental originations, the Florida Disaster Fund assists the state’s communities as they respond and recover during times of emergency or disaster.  Donations may be made to the Florida Disaster Fund through the Volunteer Florida Foundation either online ( www.floridadisasterfund.org ) or by check to:
