JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Duval County grand jury has indicted four defendants arrested in four separate murder cases.
Chad Hurst was indicted on charges of first-degree murder attempted first-degree murder with a weapon and armed burglary in the October 2014 death of Jennalee Miles.

Hurst is accused of stabbing Miles and killing her at the Hawthorn Suites in Baymeadows. At the time, police said Hurst also stabbed a second victim more than 20 times. According to police, Hurst met the victims on BackPage.com.
Ruben Palmer, 20, was indicted on charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery and kidnapping with a firearm in the December 2012 death of Walter Nicholson.
Police said Nicholson was found with a gunshot wound on a front porch on Mar Vic Lane. Police said Palmer met Nicholson online and set up a meeting at the apartment complex where he and others were waiting. Palmer has been in jail since 2013 on unrelated robbery and assault charges.
Steven McKenney was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder for the June 2012 death of Terry Blount.
William Brown was indicted on charges of first-degree murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and possession of a firearm by a juvenile delinquent found to have committed a felony act in the July 2014 death of James Thomas.
Police said Thomas was on a mandatory swimming break at the Johnnie Walker Community Center pool in Northwest Jacksonville at about 2 p.m. July 11 when he went out to the parking lot and was gunned down by three teens. Police said Thomas was shot once, and the fatal bullet came from Brown's gun. Another teen also fired at Thomas and a third teen was driving the car.
All four indicted defendants are currently housed in the Duval County Jail.
