Half of all small businesses in Florida plan to hire in the next six months

Jacksonville, Fla. – About 54 percent of small businesses in Florida expect to hire during the next six months. That's according to a Florida Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index Survey.

The report also says for the second time in a row, small businesses listed their top concern as economic uncertainty. Workforce quality came in second.

Only 53 percent of companies that responded said their sales increased compared to last year, and 63 percent expect their company's sales to improve during the next year. 

Small businesses account for about 43 percent of Florida's private-sector workforce.
