Heart Walk raises over $1 million

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An estimated 20,000 people participated Saturday in the annual Heart Walk in Jacksonville.  The largest crowd ever walked three miles around EverBank Field to raise awareness for heart health.

According to the American Heart Association, heart attacks are the No. 1 one killer of Americans.

So far the American Heart Association has raised $1.2 million. Their goal is to raise $1.7 million.

The organization also wants to improve cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent.
