JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fewer people are expected to travel for Thanksgiving this year, but more than 43-million people will still go somewhere more than 50 miles from home.
According to AAA, 90 percent of those people will drive to where they're going. The number of people on the road is expected to be 1.6 percent less than than there were in 2012, but the number of airline passengers is predicted to be 3.7 percent less.

The biggest tip.. If you're traveling and want to bypass the crowds, avoid trips on Wednesday! That's expected to be the busiest day this week with 37 percent of the people going somewhere, leaving that day.
If you're filling up and hitting the road, know that the average price of a gallon of regular gas in Jacksonville is $3.34, pretty much the same as it was this time in 2012. That's slightly higher then the national average of $3.28.
Adding to the busy travel week stress is this cold weather. Currently making things a mess in the Dallas area where airlines pre-canceled about 300 flights to reduce the number of stranded travelers.
There was one flight from Jacksonville to Dallas canceled this morning.
By Tuesday, freezing rain is expected to reach mid-Atlantic states and parts of the northeast.
