JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The annual HERI (Home Educational Resources and Information) Home School Convention will be held at the Prime Osborn Convention Center on Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th.
The convention is open to the public, as many vendors and workshops can be beneficial to those outside the homeschooling arena.
The featured speaker is Michael Farris, Esq., Chancellor of Patrick Henry College and Chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).

He will be joined by many other phenomenal speakers, including homeschool lobbyist, Brenda Dickinson, with Home Education Foundation (HEF).
This year, there are some exciting things going on at the convention.
· KidZone – with inflatables, coloring, face painting, balloon twisting, and a Lego League demo
· Exhibitions – with a self sufficiency class, candy making class, shag dancing, Tae Kwon Do, a magic show, and much, much more.
· A Middle/High School Workshop Track, followed by a College and Career Fair on Sat. afternoon
· Wonderful workshops going on both days.

NO, you can choose your own curriculum.
2) Who or what system determines if said home schooling is effective for the child?
There are standardized tests for homeschooled children offered within the cirriculum
3) How does the transition from home schooling back to traditional schooling work?
You have to check with the county. Some students going into high school may have an issue with the school accepting credits.
