Hope Therapy Benefit Set For Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A benefit for Hope Therapy will be held from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Kelly Seahorse Ranch at Amelia Island State Park.

Channel 4's Mary Baer will be participating in a horseback ride on the beach.

Hope Therapy is a therapeutic horseback riding group based in Middleburg that helps children and adults with quality physical, occupational and speech therapy.

"I've had kids who couldn't walk come out here," Hope Therapy founder Rebecca Davenport said. "They're on the horse. They learn to shift their weight from side to side. That transfers to the rider and they start walking."

The physical and emotional benefits for children and adults are amazing, but Hope Therapy needs help to keep the program galloping along.
