Hospital lockdown after worker spotted with drill
A maintenance worker carrying a hand drill caused a brief lockdown at a Tampa Bay area hospital.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that it received calls of a suspicious person at Brandon Regional Hospital around noon Monday. Some reports claimed there was a person with a gun.
Authorities say a sweep of the hospital determined that the suspicious person was actually the maintenance worker.
The Tampa Tribune reports that patients and family members said they were told to stay in their rooms during the lockdown.
