YULEE, FLa. – Nassau County deputies investigating the theft of sterling silver serving pieces and silverware from a home on Marsh Hawk Road in Fernandina Beach last month have arrested the housekeeper on a charge of grand theft.

Deputies say a sterling silver antique coffee pot, an antique cream pitcher, 14 five piece sterling place settings, a meat fork, gravy ladle, 21 silver spoons, silver serving trays and bowls valued at $12,950 were taken from the home.  Several items matching the description of the stolen objects were pawned to the Precious Metals Group in Yulee a few days later.

After interviewing individuals who had access to the residence during this time, deputies say a housekeeper, Marjorie Lynn Bowen, 41, of St. Marys, Ga.,  admitted to stealing the items, as well as taking some jewelry and pawning them.

In addition to grand theft, Bowen was charged with dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership of pawned items.
