The Fourth of July fireworks show over the St. Johns River.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The banks of the St. Johns River will swell with patriotic pride Thursday night as the city hosts its annual tradition, Jacksonville's Fireworks Spectacular.

Thousands are expected to crowd along the river for a fireworks display that will commemorate the nation's 237th birthday and salute the United States' armed forces.

Pyro Shows of La Follette, Tenn., will conduct a 12-minute fireworks show firing 2,500 pounds of explosives from two barges in an electronically choreographed program featuring patriotic music.

You can watch the downtown fireworks show during a special presentation on Channel 4, The Local Station, starting at 8 p.m.

The broadcast will also show fireworks shows in Jacksonville Beach, Orange Park and St. Augustine starting at 9 p.m.

Along with the fireworks, the program will be special performances from the Jacksonville Children's Chorus, St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.
